Q. How can I hire No Strings Attached out for a gig?
A. Contact Lauren, our Business Manager, at nostringsattachedjazz@gmail.com

Q. What kind of performances does No Strings Attached do?
A. We perform two concerts a year: one in April and one in October, which features many a cappella groups across campus. We compete annually in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (where we most recently placed 4th!). We also sing The National Anthem for various sports teams on campus including Illini Hockey, Basketball, and Baseball. We also do miscellaneous gigs throughout the year such as benefit concerts, a winter high school tour, holiday parties, and even proposals!

Q. What’s it like being in No Strings Attached?
A. No Strings is a balance of musicianship, comradery, and a great college experience. We spend hours learning music together, laughing together, and touring together. By the end of your years with No Strings Attached, you have a whole new family of love, inspiration, and unending support!

Q. How often does No Strings Attached practice?
A. We practice 3 times a week for up to 3 hours at a time. This may seem like a lot, but outside of rehearsal many of our members still find time to excel in challenging majors and several other extracurricular activities.

Q. How do I go about joining No Strings Attached?
A. No Strings holds annual auditions at the beginning of every fall semester. You can sign up for an audition during Quad Day or walk in the night of. Check our Facebook Page for information on dates and times for auditions!

Q. What do I have to do to audition?
A. Our audition process involves singing approximately 30-60 seconds of a song that showcases your voice (from any genre). We will also warm you up to test your range and will have a brief sight-singing exercise. If we like what we hear, we will call you back to learn one of our songs and sing with the group!
